Review: Maybelline Super Stay 14hr Lipstick in “Stay With Me Coral (430)”

May 28, 2013 § 4 Comments

Okay so I admit it… I might be becoming slightly obsessed with lipstick. It’s quite a new thing to me (I’ve only really begun to use lip products aside from balm in the last couple of months) but now I’ve managed to figure out how it works I love it. Recently I’ve become really attracted to the idea of wearing brighter lipsticks; up until Tuesday I’ve only owned a couple of nudes and natural-esque pinks that I’ve worn much. I wanted a lovely coral-y pink to bring myself into the world of brighter colours and make my lips stand out some more. This lipstick caught my eye because it was the exact colour I’d had in mind, and boy am I glad I picked it up! It is stunning. « Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Tint + Balm

May 19, 2013 § 8 Comments

Recently I’ve been trying to find some nice lip products that I can wear during the day but still give an interesting pop of colour to my lips, and after remembering that I had previously bought and tried Rimmel’s 1000 Kisses Lip Tint and quite liked it, I decided to go for it again. My last tube has vanished somewhere into the great beyond, so I went for a colour that I thought would be a nice bright(ish) pink but still suitable for daytime wear. I don’t know if they have perhaps changed the formula since I last bought it, but I was extremely disappointed. « Read the rest of this entry »

Mascara Wars Round 2: 17 “Falsifeye” vs Rimmel “Scandaleyes”

May 18, 2013 § 1 Comment

mascara - vs2

Since a couple of people commented on my comparison of Benefit “They’re Real!” and 17 “Falsifeye saying that it was helpful and they had actually changed their mind about re-buying They’re Real!, I thought I’d do another comparison with Falsifeye and Scandaleyes. « Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Lush “Love Lettuce” Fresh Face Mask

May 2, 2013 § Leave a comment

There’s nothing better to make you feel fresh and a little bit pampered than a really nice face mask, and Love Lettuce from Lush is my favourite so far. After using it, my skin feels wonderfully soft, smooth and nourished; I have to force myself to limit using it! « Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Boots Tea Tree & Witchhazel Nose Pore Strips

April 29, 2013 § Leave a comment

I’ve never had particularly visible blackheads on my nose, but there are a few that I’ve never been able to quite get rid of. After trying these strips, I’ve added them to my skincare essentials! Read more for a full review. « Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Rimmel “Lasting Finish by Kate” (colour 08)

April 25, 2013 § 6 Comments

Here we have one of my makeup bag essentials!

I didn’t used to be much of a fan of lipstick, but after buying this one, I’m in love! I’ve been slowly falling in love with Rimmel’s products for a while now. They’re really good quality and last well, but at around half the price of a lot of other brands, I feel a lot of Rimmel products are way better value for money. After about 20 minutes of dithering in the shop, I decided to go for it and get this pink shade. « Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Lush “Ocean Salt” face scrub

April 23, 2013 § 4 Comments

I have quite sensitive skin and with several face washes and scrubs I’ve tried previously I’ve found most really irritate my skin and leave my face feeling raw, and most  perfumed products make me itchy as hell. So far the only products I’ve found that work well for me are Simple face washes. Somehow, though, while being quite sensitive my skin still manages to feel quite rough and dry without a good exfoliating scrub in the mornings, and I’ve got pretty bored of having to use bland products every day.

After finding that Lush products are delicate enough to do what they’re supposed to without damaging my skin while still smelling great, I just had to find myself an exfoliating face scrub to try.

Would I buy this again?: Yes

At £6.95 for a 100g pot, this scrub is a little pricey, but I think it’s more than worth it and I’m definitely recommending it to anyone who likes a good exfoliating face scrub.

It contains rock salt as its exfoliating agent, and smells of coconuts and limes which makes it a great one for brightening your morning. The base itself has quite a nice, creamy texture, doesn’t lather up like most scrubs on the market and doesn’t leave my face feeling as dry as some products have. The salt in this scrub does mean it’s very rough, but I found that with a very gentle pressure it works fantastically, plus this roughness means you can use it on other areas of your body besides your face.
